hard to steer when slowing down or in parked

Default hard to steer when slowing down or in parked

what causes this help me out is it the power steering pump or something else help me out

It sounds like the power steering. Check the fluid and the belt.

im not loosing any fluid and the belts fine fluid does seem old

if ur fluid level is fine you should still be gettin the pressure from the pump though. hmmm...

Does it make any sounds? Is it hard to turn both directions or just one?

its hard to turn both and it makes a slight sound

If there is no play in the belt and your fluid lvl is ok. Your pump might be going out. I would try to drain the fluid and refill with new just to make sure.

replace the fluid by sucking out the old with a turkey baster or gear oil hand pump.

with engine off, pump it out, then refill. start engine and run it a little while, then turn off engine and repeat the cycle 2 or 3 or 4 times. this will take about a quart or so and get out almost all the old fluid.

got a 2005 with the same problem. i put in a rebuilt pump and it didnt help! i cant figure it out ethr. anybody know?
