Yeah, kinda stupid that dodge didn't put tow hooks on every truck. Chevy puts tow hooks on most of their trucks be it 2 or 4 wheel. I can see loads of possible reasons for trucks to have something up front to pull on. You don't have to be off roading to slide into a ditch or something but I've given up trying to figure out why dodge does some of the things it does.

Well there are always good old fashioned shackle mounts:

never used the bolt ons, but I'd be sure to pick up a couple backplates for 'em.

Although I've never put a set on a vehicle, I've put a few of the weld on types on a few trailers.
Personally I'd get the weld on ones and find a nice spot on the frame for 'em, but if you don't weld the bolt on ones are fine...

As far as the front receiver hitch goes, I found a Draw-Tight and a Reese on Amazon.com for around $175 for 2nd Gen 1500s.

I dunno what the Mopar tow hooks go for for 2nd Gens, but I know they are over $150 a pair for 3rd Gens at the stealership and ain't 1/100th as versatile as a hitch.

BTW, both receiver hitches are rated for 9000# rolling weight...

I totally understand what your saying about getting a front hitch but I really dont like the look and I dont think I will use it enough to justify the money or work to install one

Even if they end up not visible and kinda under the front end as long as they can be used without messing up the front bumper because soon enough the new one will be on
Hey now, I found mine at a junkyard for $20. haha they're off the mid 90's chevrolets. Get 3.5x3.5 in angle iron and fab up a bracket at the bottom of the frame under the bumper bracket where the holes go all the way thru the frame.
