Quote: I just shot trap when we bring out the guns. I normal do 300-400 rounds.
I need to brake out the shot gun agin and go blow up some birds. We get them for free.
I normally only run through about 100-150 when I shoot trap. I was supposed to get up with a friend and shoot some but it was a bust so I just went into the back yard and burned up a few hundred 9mm, .22 and 8mm rounds.

What do you mean you get them for free? Do you mean clay or tweety birds?

Another update. Got the truck back when I stopped in they said the gears are fine and the pattern is looking good on them. They emptyed both diff and checked all the specs out every thing is where it should be. They also jacked up the truck and found out where its coming from. They called there guy at randys ring and pinion. He said the standard gear I'm using is causing the noise. It was not the install. On the dealer thing that they use is say's don't use in a quite car because of the noise the gear makes. They said I could get a yukon rear and that the noise would go away, but I don't really feel like spending anymore money on my truck right now. They also told me that parts in my truck where just about shot which was good to know. Like my front breaks drive shaft u joints and another set of axle u joints. This set didn't event get me 12k and there on there last leg. No clicking but the said when the pulled the shafts the u joints didn't bend.

There nice guys up there and they keep saying if anything comes up they will make it right and fix the issue.

The issue here is a crappy gear not the install.

Don't get standard gears get yukon's they my cost me but you won't have a bottle rocket under your truck.

I get the clays for free. I have stacks of 6 gallon buckets.

I think I'd call Randy's myself. I've never heard of "Standard" Gears or know of anyone who's used them, but right on Randy's web site it says that ANY gear whine is a result of improper gear setup or not breaking the gears in properly. They also say that a whine is caused by the face of the gear being worn away and exposing the softer metal underneath and will only wear down more and more until the gear fails completely.
I'm not disputing you, but I think I'd wanna hear it from the horse's mouth...

I wasn't disputing that the gears exist, I had just never heard of them.

My point was more that Randy's tells you on their website that NO gear should whine, but verbally tells your installer "except these Standard Gears we sell"... I'd just wanna verify that with Randy's myself...

"US Standard Gear offers a lower price alternative when the cost must be kept low"

WOW! In the product description no less!!! In my book that translates to "cheap crap"... Ok, I'll amend my previous statement: It's all about the install unless you buy US Standard Gears...

and I love the "low cost", I paid $34 less for the set of Genuines for the rear of my truck.

I hope they work out for you, dunno if I'd trust 'em though...

Yea like I said at some point I'll swap gears agin but for right now I can live with it. I have been romping it all day today. Locking the locker spining tires the hole 9 yards. Gonna have to make a vid of the gears.

I don't trust the gears I do trust the installer which is why I try not to bad mouth them. But it was hard not to. Every time they invited me back and took a look at the truck.

When they opened it up it was still full and there was no oil dripping from where it was parked the night before. Same story when they drove it no oil dripped they said it was from the old gear set. I'm going to hit it with break cleaner to make sure.

And I think I'm gonna change gears soon might call the place I got them and bitch a storm and see what I can get for free! Would I need another master install kit?

You can't make an omelette without breaking eggs.

This should be a lesson to everyone on here as well as other forums buy good gears.

Especially you Sheriff420!
