Default 4wd problem

I know there are tons of threads on this but I've searched about all I can lol. It started when my transfer case started making a loud popping noise. I was told it was the chain so I replaced it today. Put it back together and now the 4wd isn't engaging. The transfer case is working cause the front driveshaft is turning. I can even feel the difference when it's in 4lo but the front wheels don't pull. It worked before so I'm kinda lost.

Did you plug the vacuum lines into the switch on the transfer case?

Yes I plugged the switched in. I even tried switching the actuator switch with my other one. I think I'm just going to buy a posi lok kit and do away with it all. Are there any down falls to it? Where did everyone who has one run they're cable

I followed the instructions on where to install mine with one slight change. I didn't run mine into the wheel well.
Downside? It needs to be adjusted properly or it can be tough to engage and disengage.

yea it says in the instructions on how to adjust it, you gotta back off the jamnut on the outside of the housing, and make sure that the e ring or whatever is meeting up with the side of the inside housing when your engage-ing the cable and if not then un thread the cable a little until it does then run the jamnut back down securly.
