Default Squeeling noise when turning

Ok...I have consulted 3 people on this and now I need y'alls help.

Whenever I turn left or right there is a squeeling noise that occurs. I was told by 1 person whom is a Dodge mechanic (by phone) that it was my U-joint....another friend (by phone) wheel and hub assembly...the third (by phone) that it was something else on the axle a clip or something that is going out. He told me once it goes out that I lose 4WD.....

I have bought the U-joint, and the wheel and hub assembly and plan on replacing them anyways.....what do you guys think it is?

Highly doubt its a "clip", but my u-joints made a similar noise when they went out. My ball joints were also bad, I discovered, after I got under there and looked.

Squealing noise? Jack up the front end, and start shaking parts, see what's loose. Spin things and see if you hear anything.

Done....took caliper off and spun around the hub..and it still does it. I can't locate the sound. Ill replace the hub and wheel bearing and U-joint...and hope that it will fix the problem. If not....ill try to figure it out.

More than likely I think it is your power steering pump. My 99 Ram had the same squealing problem. You may need a new pump, or you have low fluid. Check fluid level first.

I've had wheel bearings go out plenty of times and they have never squealed when turning.

The only squealing I've had from the front end was my power steering pump when I had no power steering for 7 months. I finally got around to replacing my pump yesterday and forgot how nice power steering actually was.

Default Problem

well...turned out to be the u-joint. 2 out of 4 were bad...while under there, the wheel and hub assemb. was replaced...and the front diff was looked at for unusual wear.

Everything is good to go now.
