plenum fix
i just got the hughes engine plenum fix but the problem is my brother said he would help me put it on cause he did his but he has to work...... is there anyway i can do it myself? or is it REALLY hard?
It seemed really involved when I first did mine and after digging in I realized that it's pretty easy. When I changed intakes and took the stock one off for a second time I think I had it off in about an hour.
It's just a lot of "look at the book, take this off", "look at the book, take that off" and so on. But once you have the intake in your hands you'll realize that it ain't too bad at all.
Be careful with the two front and the two rear intake bolts, they go through the block into open air and tend to rust.
Take the idler pulley off, the bolt on the accessory bracket behind it is a pain to get at if you leave it on.
Blow away any dust and dirt that is between the valve covers and the intake before removing it.
Leave the fuel rail attached so you don't have to mess with the o-rings on the injectors, just disconnect the fuel line with a quick disconnect tool.
