Default all 8 cylinders misfiring at once help!!!!!!!!!

I have a 1996 2500 360 4x4 quad cab. My problem is all 8 cylinders are misfiring what in the heck could it be? My dist. cap is fine the rotar is fine the plugs and wires are fine. I have no clue what is going on with it i am very confused and at my wit ends with it trying to figure it out. So any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe its a fuel problem. When I bought my ram about halfway through the first tank I started misfiring. Figured it was time for plugs and wires. After that still had the problem. Talked to the guy I bought it from and he said it sat for about a month or two. So I figured I stirred up some sediment in the tank. Ran a bottle of Lucas fuel system cleaner and I drove it running like crap for about 10 minutes and the probelm was solved.
Another suggestion would to make sure your wires are not all tangled up with each other. The have to run side by side and cross at 90 degree angles or you can get crossfires.
Hope that can help you out some

if it seems like the timing has gone crazy it might be crank or cam position sensor.

Might check the coil too.

Possibly, or it just might not run. I don't know of a definitive test that tells you exactly when its the Crank sensor, other than to replace it and see if its fixed.

If and when the CKPS flakes out, the PCM will trip a fault code. However not always.

The most common failure modes are related to electrical and fuel systems. Below are the most common modes of failure.

POWER SOURCE FAULT:

PCM sense low input voltage due to weak battery or, fault in charging system

PCM FAULT:

-Coil driver CKT is blown

-Coil driver CKT remains on all the time thus arcing inside the cap as it goes around. Should turn ON / OFF in sequence. Ground is NOT being switched. New PCM is required

COIL RELATED:

-coil -shorted, partial short
-ASD relay
-ASD supply voltage is below nominal 12-14 V

DIZZY RELATED
-Bad rotor at the cap (check the pop rivet and look for twisted blade contact)
-CPS shorted harness, open connection, high / low voltage condition

IGNITION WIRES:

-coil wire is shorting to chassis ground at the coil or along the head.

FUEL SYSTEM FAULTS

-O2 sensor is shorted or clogged thus incorrect A/F mixture

-FAULT in the fuel pump (either clogged screen or partially siezed motor, partially shorted motor)

-FAULT in the injector driver CKT

-FAULT at the FUEL PUMP FUSE (low voltage condition)

-FAULT in the wiring harness to the fuel pump (below the driver door and at fuel pump itself- check connectors)

Once Cmckenna responds to a problem...there is really no other reason to post anything. He has everything covered. He should get an award for this stuff.
