Ok i already searched this one out and couldnt find the exact problem im having under the same conditions so here goes...i was driving down the highway last week and the truck dies ..get towed to the house figure out its not getting fuel ...checked all the fues and relays there fine check for fuel presure none so i replace the fuel pump while im doin that i decide its a good time to change the TPS, IAC, and O2 sensors as well...now my truck idles just fine no problems i can even rev the motor all the way up while in park or neutral without an issue but when i try to drive it it its almost like its missing the truck just does NOT want to go im out of ideas ive check all the plugs and wires there fine and not touching anything and like i said the problem only comes up when i try to drive it any ideas?

also the truck is a 96 1500 5.2 with a a/t and about 180,000 ..and the cat is gutted so i know it cant be clogged...any help is GREATLY appreciated people

this is a hard one.
so it cranks, idles, revs up high, and runs completely normal until you put it in Drive and try to go somewhere....

then what happens? does it go dead/stall, does it spit and sputter, does the transmission slip ?

Map sensor would sound like a good culprit on that, or a severe vacuum leak somewhere.

It sputters and sounds like its misfiring and wont build up any speed...i checked for a vacume leak dont have one ...map sensor ill check that one

Have you checked your plenum? Take a peek down the throttle body, see any oil? You have a leak.

Cool

Well just outta sheer curiosity i checked the fuel pressure ..its only at about 30psi so my new fuel pump is obviously a POS i took it back and got another one 48psi in the new new one and no problems since...thanks guys
