I got a radio that came out of a 2001 Dodge caravan that my shop teacher didnt want, so i took it and put it in my 89 Dodge Dakota. It worked just fine, i have a CD player in it now. Somthing the ol 89s didnt have (: Just about any Chrysler radio will be fine.

The wiring harness is what you got to watch for and the overall shape of the radio.

How did you get the radio to plug into the 89? They changed the harness in 2000 I can;t even fit one in to my 98. Just curious.

I got the pic to prove it too.
I had to modify the dash a little bit, to fit the fat pig in there.
I didn't use the stock wiring either, i purchased a wiring adapter kit from walmart for $20.
