Can't use factory radio's that has the oval face. They also have different mounting points. However, with some Dodge models you can use all the way up to 2001.

If you go with a newer looking style of radio, from 2000/2001 or whenever, the wiring harnesses changed anyway. It will not be "plug and play".

IMO, you might as well look at an aftermarket unit. With the right adapter, it can look darn near factory (or just as good).

I have a KDC MPV 619 that I had in my 1996. Fit like a glove and I have the harness. The head unit is from 2002 and i will sell it to you for 50 bucks SHIPPED. It can play MP3s burned to CDs but does not have a jack for a MP3 player.

PM me if you want it.

I have an aftermarket plastic piece that slides in to cover the extra space. It is in the pic that i have in my parts for sale album. All the wiring is there. And I was very careful when taking it back out.

Check it out and see if it will cover the space in your truck. It is a nice piece though. It lights up in alternating colors while driving or you can set it at one color.

it is also sirius ready.

CPTAFW163....bro i am gonna pass,i appreciate the offer. Jrob its all yours,i wanna keep it factory as possible. I wanna put another factory radio in its place. Truth be told when i get the truck completely put together im gonna give it 2 my 75 year old dad... LOL that radio is a little 2 hot for him he would be lost, hahahaha....sirius ready and mp3 capable yeah way 2 much for him...

Also I dont wanna spend a ton of cash on an aftermarket double din radio. So i might be stuck with my same radio...just a replacement.

why dont you just search the junkyards for another factory one... IDK for sure but i would think that a radio from a 94-97 would be interchangeable as long as it was the same style... that would be a lot cheaper too...
