Ouch. That rather sucks. Don't feel like tossing another motor in there?

I'd replace the motor. They're not that outrageous.

A reman short block isn't going to cost near as much as selling it in the condition it's in will -- the guy who buys it is going to want to deduct the cost of the short block (or even a long block) and then some for his bother from the otherwise fair market price.

If you're not up for swapping heads and whatnot, a long block is a good option -- and might be a better option since the heads should be known crack-free, the valves and seats will be fresh, and so on.

But you know your situation far better than any of us invisible internet people do, so now that the options are out there I'll shut up.

I'm sorry to hear about your truck's untimely demise. Best of luck to you no matter how you go from here.

I really just dont have the cash laying around for the new motor. On top of that I dont have the tools or know how to do the work myself and im sure labor would be through the roof. I may check around and see what I can find. This really sucks because it couldnt have come in at a worse time. Work has been slow so funds are low. Good news is I start a new job monday doing exactly what I do now but with twice the pay.
