Sweet looking setup!! Thanks for the pics!! So they supply all of that or did you have to fab any of it?? Also question about what I assume is the valve cover breather hose. Is there a fliter included just curious because sometimes you get a lil oil and dirt in there but normally its above the filter in this case its after the filter?? Oh ya and are you happy with the whole setup?? Haha I just so have the urge to get back to adding toys to my truck been awhile since I did anything LOL!!!

Yes sir, everything was included, took all of 15 minutes to install. Very nice quality. As far as the valve cover breather hose, there is no filter included, they supply you with a hose to run from the stock valve breather to the CAI tube.

Yes the K&N CAI has a tube that runs on the back side of the intake tube, right above the distributor. It comes with an extension in the kit to use with factory one.

How do you like that S&B Ramsport? I had my eye on that setup for a year, and then I wound up getting the K&N unit when it was time. Only reason I didn't get one was cuz it pulled air from stock location, and I couldn't help but think it wouldn't be as effective as the open style setup of the K&N... Not knocking you or anything though, just curious if it works well. They don't take up as much space in the engine bay as the K&N does, which is very nice!

The K&N does. It comes with a short bit of hose and a butt splice to get the existing piece plumbed in.

In all reality, there probably isn't much difference between the two. I just wanted an enclosed unit, and it was either this, or the Volant. Only difference between the S&B and the Volant is the Volant has the optional Ram Air tube (not really ram air, just a tube that travels from the box to the front grille area). I love the thing, definitely a noticeable difference in power over the 14x3 and Stock setup, has a nice deep drone to it when you get on it too. If I lived further up north I would have stuck with the 14x3 in all seriousness. But it is just too damn hot here for a 14x3.

Regardless, K&N is the most popular setup, and has been proven. But, so has the S&B. Everything considered, all is better than stock.

My thoughts exactly both Volant and Specter are small units that pull from the stock location where K&N seals off the whole front corner. Just curious?? Oh and thanks for showing up Bigslick050 was feeling outnumbered by the Green Club LOL!!!

I agree with you completely. For a unit CAI that is entirely enclosed, I would pick the S&B hands down. Plus they are the coolest looking ones IMO. If I did alot of mudding and off-roading, that for sure would be my first choice. I'm skeptical now to do serious mudding, cause I don't want to trash my filter.
