35" tire with a 3" lift possible?
yeah i heard about people throwing body lifts on top of suspension lifts and i wanted to do that in the future but some say that causes added stress on the body. but if not how do i go about that?
Body lifts are just taller body mounts. The rubber donuts that go between the mounting ears, and the body itself. There are some complications involved though. Fan/Shroud alignment being one. Steering shaft angles. Gap between bumper and body... etc.
Bear in mind I am about an opinionated old cuss.... but, I feel that body lifts are just a cheap alternative to doing something 'right'™. Granted, the price difference between doing all suspension lift, and in combination with a body lift, is pretty steep on our trucks......

ramrod; i cut the fenders on mine to take care of the minor rubbing issue i had............ you dont' have to take off much to clearance a 35...........
or just add a 2" coil spacer on top of what you have and a bigger block or add a leaf in the rear to goto 5" if you want.

Many of the big name lift kit manufacturers also sell shocks. Bilstien 9000's also seem to be popular. Talk to whomever it is you order them from, and make sure they are aware you have a lift installed.
i put 35/12.5/15's on my 01. all i had was diesel coils up front. rear was stock. cleared them fine except for some minor rubbing on the front fenders. but you really should think about it. 35's on stock 3.55 gears. if you do it, kiss your tranny goodbye now. i just got done repacing my tranny after the 35's smoked mine. to each their own. good luck to ya.

if you're gonna say things like that might as well add in 'kiss your unit bearings/wheel bearings/ balljoints/steering/tierods/brakes etc goodbye too.......... running larger tires wears everything; thats why people keep vehicles stock
35s with 3.55 gears sucks.
or just drive with OD off......... its just fine. heck with mine, even for highway i drive with OD off; at 85km/hr i'm doing 105km/h actual, revving at 2200. not terrible at all.
trannies hate heat; with OD on its always kickin into OD and it just can't push it.
