i drove with overdrive off all the time. i still do on the stock wheels/tires. i still smoked my tranny with the 35's. i only ran them for about 2-3 weeks. i have sine installed an aux. cooler. my next mod i will be doing is a trans temp gauge and gauge pod.

dude i would say if you wanna run them bad enough and actually buy a set that isnt a wide *** mud lug tire youll be fine.. my buddy runs 33's on a off road package ram with no rubbing issues on the stock wheels...

Bear in mind I am about an opinionated old cuss.... but, I feel that body lifts are just a cheap alternative to doing something 'right'™. Granted, the price difference between doing all suspension lift, and in combination with a body lift, is pretty steep on our trucks......
And I would argue that body lifts are the safer non ride altering method of clearing larger tires without changing the vehicles center of gravity nearly as much is a suspesion lift. and retains the vehicles suspension geometry preventing premature wear on components. and supension lift doesnt really give you any additional ground clearance due to these being solid axle trucks...
Fact of the matter is if you need more articulation and do serious offroading a supension lift is for you but for the majority, a body lift works fine and has other benefits.

its only a month old

redneck, how many km did your tranny have on it? maybe it was ready to go anyways?
i've been towing a trailer with 35s (od off) and i've had no troubles, not lights/temp guages going nuts. but i know my tranny is a brand new mopar replacement with 40k on it...........

my tranny had 160k miles on it. i always drive with overdrive off. i plow with this truck and towed with it before the 35's the tranny lasted a week after i put the 35's on. i will never run a tire that big again unless i rework the gears in the axles.

Yeah the main thing i worry about putting 35" is tranny wear. I have 160K on the stock tranny already. I think im just going to go with 33s and then put a body lift down the road to fit 35s.

i would be more inclined to chalk that up to Dodge's crap trannies, not necessarily the bigger tires. granted it doesn't help...........

i've not seen many dodge trannies last more than that (about 215k for us Canadians eh)

most trucks i see for sale, including mine, have had either a rebuilt or new tranny thrown in somewhere along the line......
