Tough Cold Start...
Could this be my injectors? Okay, this morning about 10-15 mins ago i went outside to start my truck. It was slow to crank for about 5 seconds then she fired right up. Then just stalled. I cranked it again, same thing. The next time i held the gas down about 1/4 of the way fired up held it at around 2000RPM for about 30 seconds, then let off an stalled, cranked it again, held the rpms low to shift into Reverse to get outa my yard, the put it into drive an took of, it did the same thing at the stop sign just down the road, after about 4 mins that it took me to get to hardees for some breakfast it started to run normal, it didnt even stall after i got there... What do you think is wrong with my truck? Could it be my injectors, e3 diamond fire plugs? Help please, thanks...

not ASD, it shuts down like a rock.
the most common problems are the same old ones - fuel pressure, IAC, TPS.
you can check fuel pressure with a gauge at the test port on fuel rail, drivers side. should be about 49 psi when first turned on or running. should remain pretty high, can't remember the number 42ish? for up to 15 minutes after shutoff.
if you can feather the gas pedal to crack it open for start and to keep it running at idle, its probably the IAC. if the idle surges up/down from 1000-1500 or there seems like a flat spot in the gas pedal, or if you get any tps codes - then its tps.

My 96 was dying at stop signs and sometimes rough as hell on cold starts then stuck wide open a couple of times. IAC fixed it.
Oh yeah, turning the key off shuts it down when the throttle is wide open.

it has good fuel pressure, and i notice my oil pressure gauge in the cap fluctuates from around 28 psi all the way back to 40 psi after revs, should it be doing this? And its really hard to crank my truck after it sits for about 5-10 mins i need to get this fixed, i do live on a farm, and i need my truck all of the day, its a dairy farm...
Slow cranking when warm? Might be a starter going belly up. Might be able to drive it up to the parts store, and have them load test it while starting, if the starter is drawing more than about 200 amps..... time for a new one.
As for the oil pressure, screw a mechanical gauge in there, and see what it has to say. The oil pressure sending units on these trucks are not known for their accuracy......

no its when i cold start it. It cranks really slow, and i have to tap the gas a bit, then when it does fire i let off the gas and it dies immediately. What is the cause of this? I did have my battery disconnected if that makes a dif...
