There are three 'steps', if you will. Grease cap, rough cast section, and then the final machined section.....

I am really not even sure of what I am seeing...... It appears that the center hole in the rim is a few inches deep, yet, when mounted on the rotor, it appears that it only overlaps the machined section, or, the third step....... which only appears to be half an inch or so wide???? What am I missing here?

ok, so in the picture i'm looking at the front rotor of a 99 2wd truck, with the old style tapered bearing. it has a pretty big center tier that the rim is supposed to slide over. what is the diameter of that tier ? and how far does it stick out?

in the first picture i see the original rim that has slid over that tier nicely. what is the diameter of the wheel center ?

in the new wheel, i see a sort of chamfer on the back side of the rim, like the tier is either supposed to be smaller, or the tier is supposed to fit in the chamfer.
what is the diameter of the center hole? the diameter of the chamfer? and the depth of the chamfer?

clearly the wibbling pin is too big for the wobbling hole.
you might have to have the centers machined out a little. or change rotors.

whats the story on the rear wheels ? do they fit or not.

are those real or aftermarket? might take your wheel to parts stores and see if theyd let you see if it would fit, may be some variations

to answer your question dakotas ram these are real.

when i measured yesterday. The opening on the sst rim is 2 7/8 and the rims that i have on now is 3 inch i didn't measure the tier but i can safely assume that it is about 2 15/16 so slightly bigger.

Has anyone else heard of this problem? and do they make different size rotors that i could go get? (not disk size but the tier that i am talking about) are the sst brakes different in any way that could cause this problem
Also DH you mentioned "old style bearing" what do you mean they changed the style for the truck or the style is just old in general? is it possible that my rotors could be old and the new ones are just smaller?

I know I am not the best at explaining things so for those who get what i am talking about thanks and thanks for any info that you can get

Something must have changed in 1999 then, as those wheels were only offered between 96-98. I have heard of people using a low profile bearing dust cap from a Chevy to help clear 3rd gen 20's. This may be something for you to look into. I don't know the part number off the top of my head, but a few guys from DT did this, and it worked for them.

in early years 2wd, dodge used a standard tapered bearing and full size rotor/hub for the bearing.

in later years 2000/2001, maybe others, the 2wd switched to the non-servicable, unitized, sealed bearing and hub assy like the 4wd uses, and then uses a hat style rotor that just slips over the hub and lugs.

if those wheels were only offered in 96-98, then all this has nothing to do with your problem.

99 rotor with tapered bearing.

00/01 rotor for unitized bearing.
