Default Clockspring

Im fairly certain my clockspring is shot (gonna get the airbag light scanned to be sure). I went into the stealership to get a price on a new one. It was close to $400 (I'm in Canada). Is there any other places that I could find a cheaper Clockspring besides going to a wrecker? Havin trouble finding one online for my truck, seem to only find ones for the caravan.

EDIT: After some more searching I found

http://www.1aauto.com/1A/ChassisSusp...-/-/1ASTC00035

Anything that I should be concerned about with that?

Hi use www.rockauto.com everything you need for vary cheap.

stealership price $400

www.rockauto.com price $110

Go to www.rockauto.com enter your truck info then click on Body-Interior then Air Bag clockspring there you go.

Now what makes you think the clock spring is shot?
Horn work?
cruse control work?
If not then you know clock spring is bad.

Have not had to replace a clock spring on the trucks so muck, The vans every day lol

Thanks, I checked out the site. The cs with cruise is actually $170, still over half the price of the dealer!
I'm assuming bad clockspring since my air bag light is on and my cruise doesn't work. The cruise has been broken since i bought the truck, I just repaired the vacuum line by the servo yesterday. I read that it could also be a bad switch? Not sure how to check that tho.
The airbag light used to go on and off every 10 seconds about a year ago, now it's on steady.

The horn is still working.

My 2001 had a recall on the clockspring. Not sure if it would still be active, or apply to your year.

My airbag light came on yesterday. Will it hurt to drive with it on? Does anyone know where to go to see if there is a recall on this matter for a 2002 Dodge Caravan

Yes there is a recall on the clock spring. Call any dodge and tell them you have a 2002 Dodge Caravan that is under the recall.
You will not hurt anything driving with the air bag light on, It is just telling you the air bag system is not working. So if you get in a wreck the air bag will not deploy. Check in the Caravan section they have all the info you could possibly need.

I do not think this is a clock spring problem. Because if the clock spring is bad nothing on the steering wheel works (ie horn, cruise control, if you have it the radio controls) All of these things get there power from the clock spring.
I would say you need to have the trucks BCM codes pulled. This will tell you what the problem is.
Get this code and post back.

Could someone enlighten me as to what BCM stands for? I have an airbag light after having replaced the clockspring and suspect the ACM may have received a spike or otherwise faulty signal. Perhaps I too need to have the BCM codes pulled?

I'd bet BCM was a typo, and PCM (Powertrain Control Module) is what was intended. Most auto parts stores will read your codes for free.

I got my clock spring from napa when i did my cruise control swap It was around $30. Look around, one site will have one high priced, and another lower.
