Default EGR Valve on 2001 5.9

I have heard that the 2001 ram 5.9 does not have a EGR valve. Is this true?

Thx Maxx Magnum. My CEL light is on. no codes and the gas mileage has decreased from from 12 to 10.8 and it seems to be running a little rough sometimes Have changed the plugs, wires, rotor, cap, IAC, TPS and Map sensor. Can't seem to find out the problem. Any Ideas?

did you check for codes by doing the key dance - on, off, on, off, on
if the CEL is on, it should display the codes in the odometer, ending with done.

Have you read the codes to see what they are? on the 01, turn the key off-on three times I believe, and it will flash the codes on the odometer. That will at least give you a direction to look at.

I have done the key dance and it says "P Done". I also took it to Advance Auto to have it checked and it showed no codes.

that's wierd. i thought a CEL light and a stored code were as tightly coupled as a brother/sister husband/wife from west virginia.

reset pcm and see if some useful info comes back.
