crank sensor? my truck wont start
me and my pops just got done swapping out 46rh tranny with a replacement cuz it was slipping... so with excitement that i had my truck fixed i went to crank it and nothin. it turns over but thats it. we had problems starting it before but i figured it was routine for the truck now. we replaced the fuel pump distributor cap and rotor and even the plugs and wires and nothing... the engine turns over slow to. so im guessings theres no spark and i keep hearing about a sensor. the crank sensor. when we finished the swap this was left dangling and didnt know what it was......

is it me or did we brake it off. cuz i looked up what it looked like and tryed to reconnect it the sensor doesnt have prongs or stuff so i put it back in the hole but its like i dont think thatll work
could have but i think the prongs are at the top on the bell housing not on the sensor it self. So it would be hard for me to tell. Good news is even if it is broke it could have been the cause of your slow/hard crank so replacing it would be good anyway. Although im not sure if a local part store would carry the male end of the connector. someone else maybe able to chime in with some better info on that.
sliding it in i think that sensor part is supposed to be attached to that bracket thing like one whole peice lol but the wires run straight from the sensor no the bracket you know. im just confused

haha i know what you mean. If it was me I would plug that sensor in and jump the battery and try to give it a crank. If it fires up at least you know a little more what your dealing with. Just my thoughts
