just replaced 46rh tranny. now it wont shift out of 2nd

i put 5 brand new quarts of atf+4. i just swapped it in. the fluids fine lol im scared to bust that 4500 rpm manuvre

it wont hurt it to do it once and a while...i remember a thread here a while back saying that its not good to baby these trucks, that you need to give them some sometimes...and 5 qts isnt enough....when i flushed i had to put 7 1/2 in each time....and thats with just dropping the pan....

5 quarts in a rebuilt trans? It holds around 12 or so ya know......

oh wow i feel stupid let me check.. well im low by maybe 2 quarts.... is it bad to mix atf4 with generic stuff im desperate now

Use ATF +4 ONLY! in your tranny.

It's obvious once you have the trans open whether or not the owner used ATF+4.

Check fluid level. (in neutral) Whens the last time the trans was serviced?

i haven't did it yet but i just bought transmission gasket and filter for it today.. what angle should my transmission be at, because im put 46rh transmission in 85 D150 and i had to make crossmember

Should point down toward the rear diff a few degrees. If you don't get a vibration while driving, it's fine.
