just replaced 46rh tranny. now it wont shift out of 2nd
we just replaced the 46rh in my 1500 5.2 and it runs strong and doesnt slipp like before but it wont shift out 2nd. is there adjustments that need to be made or was i sold a faulty tranny. the guy rebuilds them i got it for 400
Throttle Valve. Adjust shift points by how hard you step on the go pedal. Hooks to the linkage on the throttle body, and runs down to the trans, on the passenger side of the engine/trans.
well i figured since i didnt mess with that at all and all i did was just swap another 46rh in i shouldnt have to mess with the tv cable i did just put fluid but didnt play with all the gears could this fix it? or might it be in limp mode?

95 is purely hydraulically controlled. PCM doesn't even pay attention to it so far as I know. (aside from TCC) Low fluid will make it act funny, and if you changed the trans, then you did indeed play with the TV cable. (although, if it was out of adjustment, it would shift way late, or way early.......)
So what you are missing is third and fourth gear. Will it just not shift at all? Or does it seem to drop into neutral? (engine revs, but truck doesn't go.)

I have the 46rh as well...i took on water a few months back, and i had shifting problems...i flushed it 5 times, as well as filter changes...and got it shifting, but wouldnt go past 2nd as well...i got pissed, gunned it to 4500rpm and it shifted...and i never really had a problem after that...never had to go to that rpm again to shift...
Also are you checking fluid in Neutral while running? park WILL NOT give you an acurate reading.
