Default 1995 1500

I have a 95 1500 4x4 short bed club cab with a 5.9. i was wondering what axles it came stock with and what is the gear ratio. im running 33x12.50r15 and was wondering what gears i should be running. It goes where i want it to but its sluggish on takeoff. wondering if swapping gears is the way to go?

Hey there, you most likely have a Chrysler 9 1/4 rear and Dana 44 front, 3.55 ratio. Most of the 1500s came with this unless specified. Most people will not recommend going any larger than 33's with 3.55 gears, as then you start tearin up the transmissions in these things.

Check under your hood up top for a sticker, which shows a few things like axles, drivetrain info, paint codes, etc. for your specific truck. And if that don't work, there are a couple ways to aquire a build sheet for your truck, detailing every little option and accessory on it. I went into the dealer, but you can do it online. Welcome to df!

4.56 seems to be the general consensus for 35's.

Yep. You will like the perceived torque with the lower gears, and not quite so large tires. Not an inexpensive proposition though. expect to spend 1500 to 2000 to do both ends.
