OK I did my throttle body, did you get yours done yet?

Mine was ugly!

Idles beautiful now, even during my test drive and I no longer stall when I take my foot off the gas.

When you took it off did you scrub you Idle Air Controller? That's what made an improvement for me. Lets see some after pictures here. It's like watching a movie half way through and turning it off. I need some plot resolution. I would like to have as many before and afters as possible, it would give non-mechanical people some confidence. Especially if you say how easy it was.

All this talk of cleaning the throttle body made me want to pull mine and give it a bath. I tried the boiling method and although it got some of the carbon build up off, I had to hit it with carb cleaner and a stiff brush afterward.

Here's an action shot of it taking a bubble bath....

One thing no one mentioned is relearning the IAC. Make sure the key on and key off a couple times to relearn the IAC or you'll throw an IAC system code if you try to start it right up. Might also throw a throttle positon system code if you don't key on and key off a couple times.....

Didja use distilled water or tap water? Tap water doesn't work well and is likely to leave some mineral deposits behind.

Distilled. Ended up throwing it in the parts washer.

Huh. I just boiled my Harley carb the other day using tap. I hope there is no mineral deposits now. If there is they sure must be less than the gas deposits that were in there before cause it runs alot better now. I did use alot of compressed air to clear the circuits though. Next time I'll use distilled.
