My grandfather (a life long auto mechanic btw) had so many damn cans of Marvel Mystery Oil, Lucas Gear Oil and WD40 (and Prince Albert pipe tobacco too) in his garage that when he passed away, you could take them all and build a second garage out of them!!!

I used it to take tar and various other rude nasty stains out of carpet.

It seems like in the past few years wd changed there product. You cant hold a lighter in front of the nozzle and shoot a flame like you could years ago. I prefer this stuff we get from grainger, its called screwloose.

I think the government made them and others change propellants that won't flame up.
WD 40 will thin and dehydrate any lubricant in or on whatever it is applied to.

A couple years ago my dad introduced me to the best penetrating fluid I have used, Mopar Penetrating Fluid:

He buys this stuff, and Mopar oil, by the cases. So if I'm down at his place I sometimes snag a can (or jug) of it when I'm runnin low No idea what it costs as I've never actually bought a can haha
