Underhood light
Yea I have a newer hood on my truck and kept the newer underhood light so it was was already spliced so I just cut the old splice out and added it in there...so connector does not help
Ended up just pulling fuses until I found one that shut it off, it was the IOD fuse which means I have lost a couple other things, and this rain down here is really meassing with my wiring

Anyone know where to get a replacement underhood light setup? I'd love for mine to be operational.
For those who commented that it was a mercury switch -- don't answer questions unless you know for certain. Mercury was banned for use in switches like this years before these trucks came into production. There is nothing worse than people who think they know, but don't.

Well said. It is awful when people start commenting about stuff that is not true... as I just had done. I did not know for sure (obviously) as to what type of switch it was, but that was my guess... I just worded it wrong and made it sound like that was for sure what it was. My bad... it will never happen again

He said it worked similar to mercury thermstat,
not that there was mercury in the switch.

Isn't the bulb replaceable? It is definitely an odd looking one though.

Love that website, covered in ambiguity and assumptions with key words such as: potentially, assume, general rule, and the ever popular "check all except".
I believe that website as much as I believe anyone who serves in elected office. Mercury has been banned from many traditional uses for many years, so my advice to you is to find a more reliable source of information.
Here's a bit of humor for you -- there are still people out there who: a) think carburetors are more efficient and get better fuel economy than fuel injections; b) don't believe diesel engines are more efficient and cleaner burning than gasoline engines; c) think natural/propane gas appliances are an explosive hazard in a house.
