Sheriff, if you are going with 1.7s and the airgap, get an SCT and dump the superchips. The superchips can only give you a bit more power than the stock tune, and I believe you'd see a better gain with the SCT. Even a MP PCM would be better than the superchips IMO.

Looks like stock barrel is the winner for low mod count users going the gas tractor route (aka not a dragster but a hauler).

The question that comes up for me are what do the popular RV/towing type cams and possibly non oem heads etc that are available bring into this dyno picture? IOW could it be that one of these other intakes plus some other combo of parts makes an even more impressive tractor engine as compared to the kegger plus standard bolt on towing power mods commonly discussed on the forum here? Or maybe kegger reigns supreme towing intake under all conditions???

I like a hotter engine but my truck gets used as a truck. I need a nasty tractor engine not a dragster. ...and since I'm diggin my magnum gasser I'd probably pour illogical upgrade cost/truck value into it to find it rather than just go buy a diesel. No one wants to be inefficient in achieving their upgrade goals when especially when it comes to $$$ outlay, me either. It turns into a long conversation for a newb like me to make good decisions when I csn't afford just to go have some high end pro take care of everything for me and write a check.

Sheriff, you are right about it looking cool. To me it would be more of an aesthetic mod than performance. So if you add the performance gains (and hidden potential if you do future mods) with the looks, it is close to being worth the money.

But since more people are screaming for SBC parts than magnum parts, the market is still a niche market.

I'm pretty sure you can get the adapter from Hughes for about 40$.

Says the 16 year old know-it-all.

If I knew now, what I thought I did when I was 16, I'd be Donald Trump, with better hair, man.

whats amazing is no one but the people who market these intakes or market tuning for our dodges are the ones posting bogus graphs please some one with a realistic engine combo that is common to the rest of us do the comparison changing intakes only and tuned properly. My M1 on my 408 with a "tiny cam" put down a 463 ftlbs of torque down low and 330 hp at 4700 rpms I also gained a lot of power with 1.75 longtube headers and true dual 3 inch exhaust and free flow mufflers but just keep running through your single exhaust and believe it is helping your torque numbers after all dragsters have at least 15ft of exhaust running under there cars to help with power. If money was no object or someone would fund this I would swap my m1 out with the kegger on the same dyno I ran these numbers just to see what would happen. last time cost me 120.00 I accept pay pal and Im tuned by Hemifever.

You'd be Donald Trump? Yes. Better hair? NEVER. No one can beat Trumps hair. I mean, he does SO MUCH with jut ONE strand of hair.
