It's not gonna be much better. 13mpg is really good for these trucks and yours with 180k miles on it. I get about 11mpg.

To me that doesn't seem all that bad. I have an '01 4x4 w/ 5.2L, 106000 and average 13.7. Only mod I have is a Flowmaster 44 on stock everything.

I have a 1999 dodge ram 1500, it has a programmer and even in the 84 octane programming, I get about 13.5-14.3 MPG. So yes, 13MPG sounds DAMN good.

My '98 RCSB 5.9 4x4 got about that NEW off the lot, I was lucky to see double digit mpgs once I lifted it and put 35" tires on. 13+ mpgs with 180k miles on it, I'd say you're doing good...

My 98 w/ 5.9, 4 x 4 gets 13 mpg. Has 147k, stock everything including tire size. Have not changed the plenum gasket...yet. I have had it since new. I remember it getting 14 mpg back when it had 70k on it. I used to not keep up with mpg's back when gas was cheap, so I don't have a really good idea of what it got when new.

I'm getting around 13mpg with my Ram empty. So I would have to agree with everyone else, that's not a bad number for you.

Want better mpg? go 2wd, less drivetrain loss but it would really suck in the snow
