Default Can i put a regular box on my truck?

How hard would it be to change out the the short box on my truck and make it a regular box? My truck is a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500, 2 Door, Shortbox

You would have to extend the frame, lengthen the drive shaft, and the rear wiring harness. Splicing into the middle of the frame is not something to be undertaken lightly. Would be far easier/cheaper/safer to just sell your truck, and by a truck that already has a long bed.

that would mean making the chassis longer and having the change a lot of stuff. Better off selling the short box to get a long box.

i have really thought about this before

if you look at your frame you can see when they bolt/rivet the rear frame on to fix a short box

so you would need a rear frame and box and dive shaft,, also longer break lines and wire 4 the break light

not sure about the gas tank setup problemy need to switch over to the 36gallon tank the long boxs have also them maybe longer gas lines
