^i went to my old boss, and had him use a air chuck and blow it all out....

but i agree with you, to get mod done first...the mod was kinda hard IMO...i used a jigsaw, and it was very hard to fit it in and get angles....you'll need something small, and its pretty tough to cut...but you may have the right tools for it...

Pull the PCV hose off the manifold and see how wet it is in there (the hose, not the manifold).
I thought my new felpro gasket failed when pinched between the Hughes plate and the manifold but it turned out that my PCV valve was letting enough oil through it to make me believe there was a plenum issue.
I went ahead and ordered the airgap and it was during the install that I realized that the PCV valve was the culprit. I couldn't complain though because I got something that I had been wanting anyway due to a poor diagnosis.

Thanks a ton for saying that -- it came up in another thread and I couldn't for the life of me recall the whole story. Next time someone uses your name in vain I'll slap 'im senseless.

i would save up and air gap it... it doesnt matter to me what others have said (and maybe they had different results) but when i put on my airgap i couldnt have been happier, and i havent ever regretted the price i paid.. id do it again... it was a world of difference.. and in my opinions is worth it 100%

Don't be asking an old man to remember things that happened two or three weeks ago!

It might have been a plenum gasket thread, or it might have been an oxygen sensor thread -- either way, a stuck PCV would account for what the other person said. They'll really hammer performance and fuel economy no matter how ya slice it.

Whatever it was, I offered up some advice and someone else said that your experience proved I was full of something I hadn't seen since early in the morning.
