Default Rocker Panel/ Door Project

ok, ive come to the decision that im not going to be taking my truck on the moose hunt i have in 2 weeks....it currently needs the following...

-Track Bar
-Drop Pitman Arm
-Oil Change
-Harmonic Balancer
-Alignment
-Tire Rotation
-2 short brake lines

It needs all of this before i could think of taking it on the moose hunt...So im going to park the truck and just get everything done over time...the moose hunt would consist of me driving my truck about 1800 miles in a week....so im going to play it safe, and take the maxima to my parents and then ride with my dad.

Soooo....ive started today with body work.

I got me a nice piece of sheet metal, big enough to do both the rocker and bottom of the door....

its some pretty tough stuff, but i have it all bent the way it should be....i ripped out the entire rocker panal today. the sheet metal looks AWESOME the way its going in, going to give the bottom half of my truck the chrome look.

So i ripped out the rocker panals, took out ALL the old bondo from my attempts in the past, and got it all sanded down to bare metal.

i have the upper portion bondoed in a few spots and have the bottom lip hanging down for now....i have the top in so next time i get a chance, ill be drilling holes, and putting small screws in to hold it securly in place. (since where im putting the sheet metal its still good metal on the truck) then ill fold the rest of the metal under the cab, drill more holes and put more screws in....

the piece is already fitted, so im just waiting to drill some holes now...this is going to look badass, i wish my digital camera wasnt broke....ill get some pics up as soon as i can, as well as keeping everyone updated.

so far i have about 5 hours invested into it....took me about an hour just to get the sheet metal bent the way i want it...

bout time i get this done...the right way...

Not only do I STILL have 2 doors (in perfect condition! of course the price has gone up), but I'm sure the rockers off my 98 could be cut off and installed on yours just fine!

They are too heavy and will just get damaged, as I don't have the means to properly package them.

STATUS UPDATE:

Alright yesterday i finally got more time to work on this....got all my holes drilled, and the rocker panal is now in place, so it doesnt look like crap anymore!!!! my rocker panal is chrome now....

Im working on the bottom of the door now, for it has a buldge at the bottom where is sticking out a bit....so im going to get that pressed back together, and replace the bottom portion with sheet metal (from molding down)

after i get the door situated, ill be starting on the cab corner....

this is actually comming out awesome, i love how my rocker is a smooth piece and chrome lol...instead of the bondo, fiberglass, and duct tape i had before lol....
