Default Upper door detent bushing help with pic - New Dodge Owner Here!!!

So I got the truck yesterday. Super stoked.

1999 Dodge Ram 1500

Passenger side door has a bushing that the "paw" rolls on to stop the door at various positions. This bushing is wore out. The drivers side has already been replaced at some point.

Where can I get this bushing and how hard is it to change out.

All the info in the internet has dealt with saggy doors and hinge replacements. My hinges are fine, just need that roller. You can see in the pic I greased it up cause it sounded terrible.

Thanks!!

The pin is missing as well. Your local parts store (O'Reilly, Autozone, etc) should have a repair kit in the HELP! section. The replacement bushing is brass and won't wear.

There should be a pin from the top of the hinge all the way through.

There is no pin missing in that pick. But I think the roller is part of the hinge and not available separately. Try spraying some penetrating oil on the roller to free it up if it's not spinning.

Dorman does not have that part, just the hinge pins. If they don't make it, odds are no one does. However, maybe the dealer has them separate.

Ummm, you'll have to buy a whole new hinge to fix that problem. Sorry bud.

I just put a glob of grease on mine when it starts squeaking.
If you want to replace it then hit the self help section at advance like VW said and get to pounding on that pin with a punch and a hammer.

I remember my mom and dad had some 1976 cadillac when I was growing up (80s) and that door was either FULLY OPEN or CLOSED. None of this half way garbage.

And the door probably weighed more than you did......
