Default brake question

On a 96 Ram 1500 2 wheel drive with abs fronts, which fluid reservoir supplies the front or rear brakes. Is the front reservoir for the front brakes and the rear for the rear brakes or vice versa. I have a leak somewhere and don't see where there is any fluid dripping. The smaller reservoir towards the front of the truck was empty.

Fill it up, and have someone pump the pedal for you. Take a look back by the gas tank...... the line likes to rust thru, and break there. (above the tank, such fun we have for you.)

If the lines are empty, it can take quite a few pumps to get any fluid back there to start showing the leak.

Knowing whether to look up front or towards the back would be very helpful. i would not be surprised to find a rusted line back there because the bed has Michigan cancer . Thanks for the idea.

If I remember right the smaller one is for the drum brakes. They take less fluid for application that the disc brake.

Oh, guess I wasn't quite clear on that eh? Yeah, the front reservoir (smaller) is for the rear brakes.
