Default 96 into an 01

i have 01 parts truck at work and im thinking of converting my interior and wiring over to the 01 because it has ac and that would be a good upgrade and it will match the seats im throwing in..the only thing that worry's me about the upgrade is the 01 has abs and my 96 doesnt how would i go about this? i will take pictures and do a write up if somebody has an easy answer to this question..could a non abs guy have a look and tell me if the plug is sitting there unused?

The 96 is more than likely RWAL, is the 01 4WAL?

If that is indeed the case, and you are changing wiring harnesses anyway....... just grab the ABS controller as well, and the associated brake lines that go with it, and the front hubs off of the 01. Yes, it will be an exercise, but, should be doable. You are going to need to change the dash, the interior harness, the heater box, might have to blow some holes in the firewall for the A/C lines, the engine harness, possibly the non-engine harness under the hood as well...... might be easier just to get EVERYTHING from the PDC outward, and call it a day. Also may have to use the 01 sensors.

Lotsa work. But, as you have the parts truck, you should have everything you need.

You'll have to swap the intake manifold as well.

this would be a nightmare. Just buy a 2001. I owned a 1996 for 5 years (03-08), then got a 2001 because of the 2001 being better. Don't try swapping interior and wiring. You would spend less money just buying a 2001.

Swapping the intake will take care of the sensors. The 96 has 2 temp sensors and the 01 has one, for instance.
