Default 01 Ram 1500 4x4 5.9L Problems

Ok rear exciter ring is bad causing my abs light AND emergency brake light to be on(unless it is because I need a new rear ABS sensor...not sure though), my speedo is starting to act up every now and then (it bounces around until I hit about 45-50 MPH) Air bag light is on because of the recall on the clockspring and of course every dealer in the salt lake city, utah area is out of them and has them on back order for about 2-3 months now. So the question is should I just replace the transmission speed sensor and the abs sensor and hope that works? Total for both sensors is about 45-50 bucks so I'm willing to try that, but the rear exciter ring (9.25) is chewed up a bit in some spots, and the dealer wants 245 for the ring itself then almost another 500 just for labor...anyone know where to find a cheaper exciter ring gear???

Since it is a rather common problem, I would change the ABS sensor on top of the rear axle first.

thats what i would do first....buddies dakota had abs light, brake light, and messed up speedo, and the pumpkin speed sensor fixed the problem...never changed tailshaft one...

ok sorry for the delay, changed the rear abs sensor (old on was pretty chewed up explained that issue) the lights are still on so I am going to have to deal with them until I can afford a new rear exciter ring for it...anyone know where I can find one for cheaper than the dealer? 9.25 dana 40 i believe dealer wants 245+tax for the exciter ring alone....also does anyone know what I can do to make the dealer get the **** clockspring in instead of telling me "oh its been on backorder for 4 months we don't know when we can get it" when you can go to autozone and buy one for 46$???? their really startin to **** me off...

You have a chrysler 9.25" rear end. No dana about it.

I don't really care for advance auto's website... their search engine isn't the best. I suppose, it is just possible, that they simply don't carry the part you are looking for......

That might just be a dealer only item..... might want to check the wrecking yards in your area..... would probably be cheaper to pick up the entire axle, and just swap it out.
