Default Transmission Test Port?

Hello everyone,

I am going to be installing a transmission temp gauge and was wondering if anyone knows if the 46RH has a test port to install the sensor in .

http://www.glowshift.com/instruction...ture-Gauge.pdf

If so where would it be located ....I am not at home currently and can not just look. Thanks in advance.

Follow the dipstick tube all the way down to the transmission, and you will see this servo port, that is what I used.

Get a Derale trany pan. It has cooling tubes built in, a drain plug, and a bung for a temp sensor. 129 at summit

I may end up going with a deep pan eventually , I already have a very large Aux Cooler installed , I do a lot of wheeling and I'm worried about dragging the pan or breaking off the sensor on a rock or branch. So that would mean I would also have to install a skid plate underneath. I just want to be able to monitor the effectiveness of my cooler and see if it is efficient enough before getting a deep pan . But thank you .

No problem, it threaded right in, although, I used an Autometer Z series, not glowshift, but I would imagine the senders would be the same if not similar. If I recall correctly, I didn't thread it in all the way, as other members had issues with the sensor interfering with an internal mechanism. Make sure to use some white Teflon thread tape to prevent any leaks.

i had the autometer can't remember the number but something like 5680 or something like that, it was the expensive model as it changes colors at different temps, but anyways, i used the front servo on my 47re and took it out once i traded my truck and the sender was bent, my suggestion would be to drive it for a day or two then pull it out to make sure it isn't intereferring, i got a little worried when i saw part of the sending unit was missing, but again i traded the truck so it isn't my problem anymore.
