Default Year of my transmission

Hello, I am getting ready to rebuild the transmission in my truck. The problem I have is this is not an original transmission It was originally a diesel truck but somewhere along the lines that was taken out and a 360ci was put in. The number off the trans is pk52119527-3012-2358. I believe it to be a 96 or 97. Thanks in advanced for any info.

You have a 46RE if it's a gasser now. A diesel has a 47RE, and as far as I know a 47RE is not going to bolt up to a 360. Some one went through a lot of trouble to go backwards.

I figured it is a 46RE would you happen to know the year? It does have OBD 2 and I see the rebuild kits are sold for certain years.

Can't help with the year, but a dodge dealer or trans shop might be able. Are you saying that someone actually went through the trouble and expense to swap out a cummins for a 360 gasser?

I'm thinking maybe a good tranny shop instead of the dealer. Unless you have a good dealer near by. The dealer part's counter guy's are usually useless dumbazzes and don't know crap unless it's listed on the vehicle with the vin #.

Get the number off the PCM, call the dealer, and see what year truck it was for, get same year parts for your trans.
