ok i did find the plenum repair kit from hughes, and i will probably be doing that in the near future but as for the here and now, it seems to be running just fine except i have had a couple issues where it would not run without me hold the gas down slightly, i pulled the battery cable and hooded it back up and it has been running good since, except for it seems to rev extremely high before shifting, a couple times well up and over 3000

Check for stored codes. And usually the IAC is bad if you have to keep your foot in it to keep it running. But, 3000 rpm's before shifting is not good. Could be tranny related, TPS and or CPS. I'd start by cleaning the IAC.

well i had a long night at home in the shop alone with all the tools (bad idea) pulled out the cat cut a whole in the side and ya, big mess, so i took a pipe and beat the remaining **** out and welded her back up, runs awsome, no ***** muffler sound anymore, took around the section and havnt thrown a CE light yet (knock on wood)

bad news while i was under there i see the front drive shaft u joint is out up by the diff (must be that ticking i have been hearing), it just unbolts one way, any good ideas for getting the rest of it out and back in, without removing the whole shaft???

now i just have to convince my dad to buy the hughes kit for me

I usually hit them with a good quality penetrating oil (CRC Knock'Er Loose or Freeze Off) the night before, and press them out with a big C-clamp. It usually works just fine. I have bent the frames of cheesy C-clamps that way, though. YMMV.

So you replaced the ujoint with a BFH while the shaft was still in the axle? Or are we talking removing the hub assembly here?
