According to the shop manual for this truck the "body code plate" that is riveted to the frame housing the radiator is supposed to have the 3 digit code stamped on positions 13 thru 15 on row 4. There are no letters in this area of the "body code plate" on my truck. I can find all the other codes on this plate shown in the shop manual but the transmission code identification is not there. Does anyone know where I can find the information that is supposed to be stamped on line 4 positions 13, 14 & 15?
BODY CODE PLATE—LINE 4
DIGITS 13, 14, AND 15
Transmission Codes
DGP = 4–speed Automatic (47RE)
DGT = 4–speed Automatic (46RE)
DGK = 4–speed Automatic (42RE)
DDP = 5–speed Manual (NVG-4500)
DDX = 5–speed Manual (NVG-4500 Heavy Duty)
DDC = 5–speed Manual (NVG-3500)
DEE = 6–speed Manual (NVG-5600)
I know this is probably like 15 years too late, but you can find information like you were looking for (DGT, DGB, DHA, DMD, DRB, etc.) on a sticker inside the glovebox, just open it up and look down to find all kinds of neat information, including the original tracking order number and primary and secondary paint color codes.

DGB $$ All 4-Speed Automatic Transmissions
DGT is used in conjunction with what motor it was paired with. Both of these are on the sticker under the hood of my Indy. The early trucks had this under the hood the later ones on the glove box from my understanding(don't have one). If you look for the engine code (on the ID tag on the radiator support) it will tell you what motor and trans it was paired with.

I know there are other threads on this subject so maybe using the "search threads" feature at the top right side of the page may be helpful.
