Default What transmission is a DGB?

I have looked on every sticker and ID plate on this 1999 Dodge RAM 1500 5.2L and cannot find the letters DGT anywhere. The only place I have been able to find nomenclature regarding the transmission is on a sticker taped under the hood with the letters "DGB" but this only says "Standard Duty Transmission". According to the shop manual for this truck the "body code plate" that is riveted to the frame housing the radiator is supposed to have the 3 digit code stamped on positions 13 thru 15 on row 4. There are no letters in this area of the "body code plate" on my truck. I can find all the other codes on this plate shown in the shop manual but the transmission code identification is not there. Does anyone know where I can find the information that is supposed to be stamped on line 4 positions 13, 14 & 15?
BODY CODE PLATE—LINE 4
DIGITS 13, 14, AND 15
Transmission Codes
DGP = 4–speed Automatic (47RE)
DGT = 4–speed Automatic (46RE)
DGK = 4–speed Automatic (42RE)
DDP = 5–speed Manual (NVG-4500)
DDX = 5–speed Manual (NVG-4500 Heavy Duty)
DDC = 5–speed Manual (NVG-3500)
DEE = 6–speed Manual (NVG-5600)

If your truck is an automatic. You have the 46RE. If its a manual, you have the NV3500.

Not sure if the 4500 was even an option on your truck. (if manual...) But, you can talk to chrysler, and get a build sheet for your truck from them, and it will tell you what was in there from the factory.

My 2000 2500, says DGB , but it's the first 3 on line six. The 98 does not have the plate, because the support was replaced and the body shop must not have reinstalled it. And btw, HeyYou is right for a change! It is a 46re plain and simple. Don't worry about the code.

Call your local Dodge dealer parts dept.
Have your vin number available and they can print build sheet for you for free.

dhvaughan (and others) are correct. From the last part of the Transmission thread in the 2nd Gen FAQ:

Ram 1500:
1994-1995 3.9L V6 = 42RH
1994-1995 5.2L V8 = 46RH
1994-1995 5.9L V8 = 46RH
1996-2001 3.9L V6 = 42RE
1996-2001 5.2L V8 = 46RE
1996-2001 5.9L V8 = 46RE

Ram 2500/3500:
1994-1995 5.9L V8 = 46RH
1994-1995 V10/Diesel = 47RH
1996-2002 5.9L V8 = 46RE
1996-2002 V10/Diesel = 47RE

Are the FAQ's correct in saying 94-95 3.9's had the 42RH? Just curious, because Jeep started using the 42RE in 1993.
