Just depends how much money you want to sink in to do things right. People half @$$ stuff all the time. It was suggested from the get go with the HS RR's to remove the guide plates (because they have the rod to connect the pair... forget the term) and install hardened pushrods (from southeastrt guy), along with the replacement of your valve springs (directly from harland sharp's old website). Your stock springs are worn to a certain lift ~1.6, tossing the 1.7's increases the lift and by not replacing them you have the potential to experience valve float at upper rpm. How many have actually replaced their springs? .... exactly.

No reason they shouldn't last a LONG time. I've had mine for a year and a half and have put around 25,000 miles on them.

Also that thread was about the Mopar rockers, not HS.

ah, my springs will be upgraded in another year and a half when I get new heads.

Since jan 2009, I have put less than 9000 miles on my truck. And that INCLUDES a move from CALIFORNIA TO ARKANSAS. So, I think i will be fine.

I only drove 800 since I did the lifters in May.

Wow, in exactly the last two months I've driven over 4300 miles!
