Sure wouldn't hurt. Also, check the FAQ section for the Plug Wire Routing Technical Service Bulletin.

The O2 sensor code is for the post-cat sensor, that should not be contributing to your problems. (unless, your cat is plugged up.....)

Check that cap! Moisture, arc tracks, crappy rotor contacts, etc. will all cause misfires.

If you're just itching to throw money at it, replace the cap, rotor, wires, and plugs before screwing around with the cam sensor, blinker fluid, or muffler bearings.

No not looking to throw money at it but i am tired of driving my wife to work. So if replacing the sensor will fix it then I will. I already did check the blinker fluid and the muffler bearings and all is checked out ok. Thanks for the suggestion. Again its been raining so it was easy to check codes last night, hopefully tonight I can get the thing in the garage once I make some room.

One maintenance item often overlooked this time of year is switching over to the winter-blend freon.

Reset the PCM, (disconnect the negative bat cable and turn on the headlights for a minute), turn the HL's off, reconnect the cable, start it(you may experience a bad idle at first), take it for a drive and see what codes come back up. Sounds like 2 different problems here.

zman, are you pulling my leg like everyone else. I have had to take the neg cable off once because the computer got confused on the TPS and it wouldnt stay running. But turn the headlights on and off I think you are just pulling my leg?

Oh, and btw! If you have only disconnected the cable once, while replacing sensors and during the trouble shooting process. Could play a big part of what's going on. Keep in mind, I could be totally wrong about everything I've said. But the NEG battery cable should be the first thing done when replacing sensors.

Zman is telling you the correct way to reset your PCM. I would reset it and see what codes return.

Not sure if the 01 suffers from the same as the 98, but had similar things happening last spring/winter. Start and run fine one day, not the next. Finally wouldn't stay running coming home one day. To keep it running I had to keep gas to it, every time I rolled up to a stop sign it would die. Finally made it home by rolling through many a stop sign. Pulled the battery and put it on the charger over night. Cleaned the ever living crap out of the terminals and the connectors. Neg connector has a nasty habit of crusting over. Haven't had a problem since. so long as I keep the terminals clean..one of these days I'll slather them up.

Ironically, ended up having the same thing happen in the DD, turns out the neg cable was just loose. Now I've got a spare battery in the garage.
