Question lift block question!

i was wondering what the difference or if there is one between the blocks on the 2500 and 1500 besides the height... or could a 2500 slip right in to a 1500 with minor or no trimming to the block.. thanks!

I think it's funny. They tell you not to stack blocks, but most lift kits come with blocks for the rear. Sniper, how big is your stock block? Mine is 3.5".

you cannot use 2500 blocks in a 1500. 2500 springs are 3'' wide and 1500 springs are 2.5'' wide. you can stack blocks, but most people dont think its a good idea. it also depends on what your going to do with your truck. if its going to see heavy off road use. dont stack them. if its a road queen, you might bee able to get away with it. you can also weld them together if you have a welder...

Since our trucks have the 3.5" stock block and a 3" lift kit comes with a 2" additional block, wouldn't it be better to buy a single 5.5" block from someone like Tuff Country, instead of stacking 2 blocks? Unless it isn't wise to mix and match lift components from 2 different manufacturers. I would just go with an add a leaf and the stock block but I don't know if you have to take the spring pack apart besides the centering bolt or do you have to remove the clips that hold the pack together? If anyone has did this with the TGC 3" kit with the add a leaf instead of the additional block, please chime in. I wished TGC posted their instructions online like most other companies do.

yes, and if you get an add a leaf you will have to take your spring pack apart, but its relatively simple. but an aad will stiffen up your ride and make the back want to jump around more, not a bad idea tho if you haul alot of weight around...

What is all involved to remove the clips that hold the pack together?
