To add to the above list: scroll about 3/4 down this page to part number 10L. I was just out looking at the stock setup in my truck, and it looks like that 45,000 BTU/40,000 lb GVW cooler w/cold weather bypass will fit in the stock location with just a bit of bracket wizardry. That's the unit I'm going to install sometime before next summer.

Your tow rating is about 8,000 lbs. You can see specifics here (since I dont know your model): http://www.trailerlife.com/images/do...owingguide.pdf
The best solution is to get a bottle of Lucas transmission additive and pour it in. It will lower your tranny temp by at leats 10 degrees when towing.
If your truck is still overheating towing the 4500lbs trailer then you have a problem. Is it a travel trailer by the way? If so, you may want to consider getting AAA with the camping opiton, this way they will take care of your truck and TT.
I'm very **** myself when getting ready for a trip, especially if familly is coming along, but there is so much you can do Anyway, you are well within your towing capacity and shouldn't worry about that. I would look into adding more tranny cooling only if towing 7-8000lbs on a long trip.

Well, that's good for him. I have used Lucas in a few different vehicles and I have seen with my own eyes the temp drops by more than 10 degrees when towing a 7200lbs travel trailer, after adding a bottle of Lucas to a "clean" ATF. I also have 111,000 miles on my Escalade and have always used Lucas in it, my transmission runs like the day it was assembled (and I tow often with it).
I am not sure if Lucas helps with slipping trannies, since I've never had one that slips, but I know it will lower your temp and so far I've never rebuilt a transmission.
