Well, might it be running rich?
I know you have the MOPAR PCM, when were the injectors last looked at/replaced?
Like Mowhawk said, a crapped injector might be pushing too much gas in, that might give you unburnt fuel in your exhaust.

I have never taken the injectors out. I will be when I do the Plenum.....I have a spare set of used ones from a lower mileage truck if i knew what cylinder was causing the problem.

I know its an automotive thing....but it's hard to believe that an injector would be fine till I replace the exhaust and transmission . I have had several people tell me it could be an injector ....thank you for your advice

might be a product of the long tubes providing TOO good of exhaust scavenging as well. The intake and exhaust are both open at the same time, for a brief period, might be sucking fresh intake charge right out the exhaust......

Wild stab in the dark, but, there ya go.

I will try and get a backfire video today....but its gonna be difficult as it doesn't want to do it while it's sitting still.....mostly in second before shifting into 3rd ....but here is why I don't want to install any more exhaust components ie Cat.

Never had one before and it was duals . Camera doesn't take the best audio and the pipes end right after the mufflers now just behind the passenger door. I have a bumper being built for the back and once that's done I will figure out where I wanna run my tailpipes . The backfiring has nothing to do with the size of exhaust pipe after the headers because I drove it with open headers 5 mins or so to the exhaust shop and it was backfiring then....I just figured it was the PCM trying to recalibrate. It seems to be doing it less often now...but it's still there .

On another Note I bought another 1995 Ram 1500 for parts! Been driving by this one sitting in a guys yard and he had removed the front axle . So I stopped in to see him and his Wife was yelling at him to get in out of the yard ....I asked him if he wanted to see some parts and he said " Gimme $50 and you can have it all, but it need to be out of my yard by Monday" So I paid the man and I'm going to get it Monday Morning .

You dont need an x- pipe or an H-pipe to run a duals setup. It just helps ALOT with exhaust scavaging. I was thinking the same thing earlier, maybe your sucking in fresh charges of air, as you would with running open headers. Everyone vehicle does that with open headers, youll get popping and such while you let the engine whine down. I still say is your exhaust setup thats mostly causing this. But again, you may actually have unburnt fuel in the exhaust, check to see if your running rich, and check the injectors. check your pre oxy sensor too, that may be iffy and causing you to run rich.
