why are there 2 seals in quad4x4 kit?

Default why are there 2 seals in quad4x4 kit?

i purchased the right side quad 4x4 axle seal kit and it came with two seals identical in appearance. is one just an extra or what?

haha ill just have to hope 2 is all i need! what size is the hub nut with the cotter pin?

No, 1/2" will be most common. But 3/4" would be a lot better. You better start soaking the nut now. You will also need a 14mm 12 point impact socket and a torque wrench capable of atleast 175lbs.

the nut was just removed in january so it shouldnt be seized or anything, right? is the best approach to removing the hub assembly- loosen up the bolts a bit and hit them with a dead blow till it breaks loose?

I wouldn't hit the factory bolts, buy a couple regular bolts to hit, or get a cheap socket along with the good one, and use the crappy one to beat on. Why was the big nut removed? If the bearing is fairly new and antiseize was used, it should come out pretty easy.

to replace the axle seal, but it still leaked. whats the cheap socket for?

To put on the factory bolt so you can beat on it ,instead the factory bolt head, if you can't find some cheap bolts to screw in and beat on.
