why does it appear that the 4x4 vac line is going into the cab, right under the weather strip that seals the hood?

Because it's broke in half maybe? Give it a little tug, it's just stuck under there maybe. Is it white?

its a small hard black line... even though the wiper motor isnt in the diagram, could it be to the wiper motor? i tried tracing the lines from the cad to the engine and good god, they go all over the place. so far ik that theres know vac where the metal lines revert back to plastic lines

OK, first of all I was wrong. That line is normal going into the hood seal like that. Is it connected to a rubber 90 degree elbow? or is it just the plastic hose coming out by the hood seal /gasket?

its a plastic hose coming out of the hood seal, i dont see an elbow. and then the other line is going into the firewall (climate control, im assuming). nothing else is connected at that manifold port

I hope this pic helps! Because I'm getting aggravated and want to jump through the screen and strangle you! LOL Btw, the white rubber cap you see in that pic, is the line that goes to the CAD. I have it disconnected because that is my 98 and at the time it had a Posi-Lok cable installed.

You don't have what line? The one to the TC switch or the one coming out of the hood seal?

Then it probably is hanging around by the distributor. It should be white. Don't confuse it with the green one(IIRC), that is just a vent with a check valve on the end of it. Not to bum you out or anything, but after all the time and money you spent on the front axle, I'd say it will really suck to find!!! Never mind.LOL
