if you have true duals AND NO H-pipe or X-pipe, and you've got smoke out both pipes, then yes you're burning oil on both sides of the engine. this would indicate oil in the plenum.

do you have oil inside your plenum ?
is the gasket sealed, or is it cracked open ?
do you have a pcv valve with a rattle ball in it?

What color smoke?

Black: Running excessively rich.

White: Burning coolant.

Bluish or grey: Burning oil.

Don't waste the money on the stock heads. You can replace them with better than stock for about 270 each, for a bit more, you can get larger valves.

Rebuilding the motor is one sure way to fix it though.

I'd be really shocked if the block was cracked. The 360 block can usually be honed out .060 and still be reliable. The 318 block is even beefier. Chrysler Blocks have always been very dependable. I believe I read a Mopar book once that stated Dodge blocks have a Higher than Normal nickel content that provides the durability.

At one time the engines for cop cars had a higher nickel content than regular production.
I've seen squad car engines with over 100,000 miles that still had the hone pattern visible.

well we got good news and bad news.. the good new engines all apart and parts are ordered.. the bad new is when i dissasmbled the head there a hairline crack between the intake and exhaust valve honestly id b surprised if there wasnt being they always crack there. So now i need to find a head for it i dont want to buy aftermarket or really even new cause this is just my woods truck so if any one has a head for sale out there hit me up haha. And i no the blocks usally dont crack but i got bad luck haha so i always inspect everything real good before putting it back together, now off to the junkyard tomorrow
