In my Dakota it was located on the fuse panel, a black rectangular box thing, I tossed mine. Keep in mind if you do this it won't warn you if you leave the headlights on.

The fuse box on the drivers side when you open the door. It is the large black box that is furthest to the front of the truck, unplug it like you would a fuse. I just pull it and leave it in place. That thing is extremely annoying, wish I could fix the one on my '04.

the buzzer/chimer varies by year. on my 01 its inside the CTM central timing module, which is a black plastic box under the dash and beside the ashtray. all chimes come from this box, including seat belt, check engine, low fuel, lights on, door open. caution, don't screw up the CTM, it costs $120.

careful. i pulled a fuse in my first attempt to silence my door dinger. it might have been 9 or 13, i think it was labeled pw or pdl or power seats or something that i don't even have. it silenced the dinger but removed power from the CTM which caused the intermittent delay control of the wipers to quit working right.

i worked on the damn wipers for a month, replaced column switch and ctm before i figured out it was that stupid fuse. so don't repeat my mistake.

If you delete the buzzer you won't be reminded that you left your headlights on when you open your door. Just something to think about.

I did have mine removed for like a week because i got tired of the door buzzer. This being cause i contently leave my door open with he radio on.... But i had to put it back after leaving my lights on one night....
