Default 1997 Ram 1500 5.2l V8

Hello. I just bought this Dodge Ram 1500 today and noticed that owner unplugged the check engine light. I plugged it in and noticed that it stayed on. I hooked my OBD II scanner to my truck, and pulled the following codes : P0441, P0713, and another one that I forgot the code to, but my book said Bank 1 Sensor 2. Anyways what should I do with these problems? Where should I start. This is my first truck.

Thanks!

441 is a evap leak - gas cap, evap vac lines.
bank 1, sensor 2 is the rear O2 sensor.

Google found this. P0713 Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor Circuit High Input. What do I do to correct this problem? It seems like going up hills it's slipping in and out of gears.

Search the DIY forum for check valve delete. Get rid of the check valve in the trans cooler lines. It likes to plug up......

So when the check valve becomes clogged, then the fluid can't reach the transmission fast enough to cool it down? Also how do I test the transmission temp. sensor?

theres only a dummy light for the tranny....check your fluid as well, and it HAS TO BE in neutral while running to get an accurate reading.......check valve is a 20 minute process very easy, do a search theres a nice DIY with pics here.
