DO NOT use four wheel drive on pavement. That is a very good way to break things. Usually, expensive things. The binding on a high traction surface is normal, and VERY bad for your driveline.

shouldnt be binding in grass though, should it?

Mine will hop around on dirt roads, if I turn tight enough...... you wouldn't think grass would be considered 'high traction'........ but hey... ya just never know.

Bad design or whatever! You simply can't turn to full lock when in 4wd, no matter what the surface you are on is.
